King Kong Newer Version Review

I enjoyed the newer version of King Kong. It was very entertaining and some scenes were portrayed better in this version than in the original version. The scene that I enjoyed the most was the spider pit scene. I liked how they included the creatures that was thought to be in the original movie but were taken out. It goes to show the effort that they put into the movie in trying to make some of the movie identical to the original so it wouldn’t lose its meaning. However, there were some scenes in the movie that have changed completely from the older version to the newer version. The change of the scenes set a different mood to the audience and made the story line have a slightly different meaning from what was intended in the original. In the original movie the natives were far less creepy than they were in this recent movie. Although they didn’t seem nice and friendly they appeared to be much more human-looking than possessed-looking. The way the natives were portrayed set you up for what to expect in the rest of the movie. This movie was a lot more violent than the original movie. It showed more action when a person or creature was being killed or attacked. The Carl Denim the movie producer in the film King Kong was portrayed different in each movie. In the first movie he appeared to be a lot nicer and caring. In the second movie he was portrayed as snobby and stuck up and didn’t really care about any of the other characters in the movie, only himself. His main focus was on getting the gorilla and becoming rich and famous. The scene where he was best portrayed as this was when his camera fell to the ground and broke into many pieces. You saw him holding his camera with the tape hanging out of it and him weeping more over that than what was going on around him. It goes to show that he only cared about his ruined camera more than his crew members dying around him. I like how the love bond was portrayed between Kong and Ann in the second movie. It made you, as an audience; connect more to them than what you did in the first movie. Kong seemed as more of a scared and frightened creature trying to protect the woman he loves than the scary monster he was brought out to be in the first movie. Overall, I think that the movie was generally better in some aspects than the first movie like for example the color, you could actually see when it was night and day unlike in the first movie, however I still like how some characters were portrayed in the first movie better.
